three things occurred:
- At least 27 Facebook status updates from the local peeps mentioning snow.
- Three text messages from local friends and husband saying variations of “SNOW!!!”
- I bundled up and went outside with the dogs to take pictures of the Annual Running Like Crazies in the Snow.
Which ended up looking a lot like pictures from December, 2008.
And only slightly snowier than Christmas Day, 2007.
And enough like January 2007 to make me ask myself why I take these pictures every year.
My dog Vinnie was just sprawled on the couch kind of like this:
Or, actually, exactly like that. And he was just too cute for words and I was overcome by the cuteness so I dashed right over to him and half-piled on him to give him snuggles and smooches because, yes, that is what I do with my pets and what of it, dude. Don’t judge me, you don’t even KNOW me. Anyway, I was scritching his belly as I am wont to do, and leaned over to give him a smooch on the top of his cute widdle nose and what did he do? He turned his head so that we basically made mouth to mouth contact.
I’ll pause for a moment so you can take that in.
I feel like you may not be getting the full impact of what happened.
HE TURNED HIS HEAD SO THAT WE MADE CONTACT. WITH OUR MOUTHS. MY MOUTH MADE CONTACT WITH HIS POOP-EATING-LIPS. POOP.
POOP.
I’m not embarrassed to say that I jumped up, squealed like a big girl’s blouse, and ran into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth. Then I rocked in the corner for several minutes because I STILL DO NOT FEEL CLEAN.
Meanwhile, Vinnie is sitting up on the couch looking all smug, like, yeah, take that, lady. Take that poop kiss. That is the Kiss of Vinnie!
I am guessing that the leaves on this tree (Dogwood?) in our backyard have changed colors every autumn for the past five autumns we’ve lived here, and I’m also guessing that every year when I finally notice it, it’s like the first time I’ve seen it. Not so observant with the nature, I am. Regardless the colors make me happy.

Also here is a blurry picture of what the dogs start doing every afternoon around 4:15pm until Mr. Zoo gets home (around 6pm). You may feel some vibration thanks to Boris’s intensity.
